Ardex Concrete Countertop

I m not an expert this is simply my personal experience.

Small 2 4 putty knife. My total cost for this project was 50 well under my 100 budget. I contacted them first to ask if it would work on ardex. Concrete counters of any kind do require maintenance.

I found a concrete sealer called siacryl from a company that specializes in diy concrete countertops. I found that henry feather finish with ardex technology was readily available at home depot so this is the product i used. It is a simple diy project that can transform your space. Just make sure whatever surface you apply it on doesn t move expand or shrink with humidity you don t want it to crack.

I haven t personally done that but i have seen people do this over a tile countertop if that helps. Depending on your style and taste you can leave it slightly more rough or keep sanding and apply until that. I had read about this feather finish concrete countertop and decided to give it a try. And if you get any little specks of concrete on your cabinets you can scrub them off pretty easy.

Alright friends the wait is over. We have tried several. This example uses about 1 5 bags large at least 8 trowel. I wanted the black counter look but as i was searching the web for the pigments to mix with the concrete i noticed the shipping charges were in most cases more than the cost of the product itself.

Ardex feather finish concrete underlayment sold in 10 bags. They told me to dilute with water in a 1 1 ratio and apply 3 4 coats. If you ve already got counters and all you need is the ardex you can get this project done for less than 50 which is a particularly good deal if you re just saving pennies until you can upgrade to something like granite or quartz. I have had concrete countertops in my kitchen and bathroom for a few years and although i love them and am proud of the fact we made them they are very prone to staining.

I m finally sharing my experience installing ardex concrete countertops in our new kitchen. Amount needed depends upon the square footage of your kitchen countertops. After kitchen and ardex feather finish concrete countertops tip do not go back on a surface as it starts to dry. I just completed my ardex counters about a week ago. You did a great job and your countertop looks beautiful. Do you know if ardex can be used on a tile backsplash. But you will be cleaning up either way.

I am in the midst of doing ardex on my kitchen counters as well.
